Annotated Bibliography (Assignment Instruction) Using the MLA style, create an annotated bibliography including 5-10 bad sources for your research-based argument essay, within the general scope of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) – see below for “suggested topics” (if you want to research on a different topic, get my approval ASAP). Most of your annotated sources must be from academic/library databases (one or two, if necessary, can be from trustworthy sources from media, government, organizations, etc). Use the source evaluation rubric to select and assess sources before you decide to annotate them for your research paper. . The annotated bibliography must be done in two steps: 1) print all your sources and underline/highlight key ideas, annotate (i.e., take notes on the margin of the printout) as you read, 2) once you’ve developed a working thesis based on the active reading process, type up your annotations in your assigned Google Doc assignment file, as instructed below. The annotation entries on your assignment Google Doc, which you will complete in preparation for the researched argument essay, must start with a standard MLA style list of “Works Cited” with each source entry followed by: 1) a brief odd summary of the key argument/issue of the source, 2) specific details that are central to understanding the source and/or will help you to develop/support your argument, 3) a note about how you plan to use the source in your paper, 4) a note about why you believe the source is reliable and relevant, especially if the source is not a standard research article from a reputed academic journal.
