# Week 1: Practice Assignment In this fellowship, you can design a 2-hour course on a topic of your choice. This is the first in a series of assignments that will culminate in developing a complete lesson. For this assignment, your task is to propose a course topic, identify your intended audience, describe the problems you aim to solve with the course, and where you intend to get materials for your course. You will submit a single document, ideally a link to a Google doc, or you can use the file upload activity to submit an MS Word document. Consider the following elements to include in your descriptions of your project: **Course Topic** Choose a topic you are interested in or have some expertise or interest in. The topic should be broad enough to cover in a 2-hour timeframe, but specific enough to provide meaningful content and learning outcomes. **Intended Audience** Identify the target audience for your course. Consider factors such as age, educational background, prior knowledge, and interests. Understanding your audience will help you tailor the course content and delivery to meet their needs effectively. **Problems to Solve** Explain the challenges or problems that your course aims to address for the learners. What knowledge gaps, skills deficiencies, or practical issues do you intend to help your audience overcome? This will later help you to plan for targeted data collection. **Materials needed** Describe where you will get the resources to include in your lesson. This could be specific text, articles, web resources, or print materials relevant to your topic. Start a reference list for any citations you will need to include.
