About HIPERC

The High Performance Computing organization (HIPERC) has been promoting events at BSC since the year 2000. It consists of faculty from Mathematics, Physics, CIS and several other departments. The HIPERC student club is recognized by USG.  Both, the faculty and the student group share the room Sci 219. The faculty advisor for the HIPERC student club is Dr. Joaquin Carbonara.

The main goal of HIPERC is to promote the use of Computers to do scientific simulations and modeling. In order to achieve its goals, HIPERC will grow to provide a reliable, robust and high quality infrastructure including access to High Performance Computing (HPC) and support to high quality academic research, education and training.

HIPERC is open to all faculty, staff and students. HIPERC is also reaching out to the community and seeks to establish partnerships with private and public institutions.

An advisory board is planned to be in place by Fall 2006.
